Tim Anderson – Celtic Cook Off Guest of Honour

Winner of BBC MasterChef 2011, Tim Anderson will participate over two days in 2012 Celtic Cook Off in West Cork.

Born in Wisconsin, USA, it was aged 18, when Tim relocated to Los Angeles and quickly became a connoisseur of regional Japanese noodles, American craft beer, and tacos sold out of trucks.

Tim moved to Japan once he had graduated from college to indulge in the country's many hot springs and diverse local foods and it was there in Japan that Tim fell in love with a British woman, and so he once again relocated, this time to London, where he developed a love for British ale, cheese, curry, game, and seafood.

Fairly well travelled, Tim has visited France, Mexico, Italy, Hong Kong, Thailand, Taiwan, Burma, and Denmark, accruing new and diverse culinary influences when he can.

It was in 2011, aged just 26, Tim took part in and won the hit BBC series MasterChef, making him the youngest champion ever and thanks to his success on the show is now working as a mercenary chef, food writer, and sommelier of beer.

Attending the event as Guest of Honour, Tim will during his two days meet local artisan food producers and have a chance to both sample and cook with their produce. He will also meet the competing chefs taking part in the Celtic Cook Off, happening here at the West Cork Hotel, before acting as one of the six judges on the Celtic Cook Off  Judging Panel alongside Roy Brett from Scotland and Martin Shanahan from Ireland.
