Really enjoyed our recent stay in the West Cork Hotel.The staff were exceptional and the service top class.We found that there was a very homely atmosphere and the staff made every effort to ensure we had a very pleasant stay.Food was excellent value and the variety on offer at such low prices was staggering!!I can recommend it highly to anyone going in that direction and will certainly be back again.Kay and Stephen Sheerin.

Good hotel, our room was lovely, however other people in our party had less modern rooms. I attended a wedding at the hotel, the food and hospitality was fantastic. The breakfast menu is really extensive and a cut above the rest in terms of choice and quality. I'd be happy to recommend this hotel to a friend, thanks for a lovely stay.

We really enjoyed our stay with you-----particularly enjoyed availability of breakfast 'till 12noon ----food was excellent ---staff were very courteous and friendly and welcoming ----who could ask for more. The entire group were delighted -------thank you all so much and we will definitely do it all again.

Had a great time recently in west cork hotel rooms very comfortable and clean had 60th birthday party for my husband who is coaliac and found the staff very plesent and helpfull food was brilliant as always love the new snug julia

I normally wouldn't give a high rating when I have a poor night sleep in a hotel but I think we were just unlucky with the room. I made a last minute reservation so I'm thinking this may have been their standby room. It was very near the lift and the walls seemed too thin. We awoke many times during the night due to the hall traffic. On the plus side is everything else the hotel offered. Staff were the friendliest around, the breakfast was outstanding and the room comfortable. I'd highly recommend it just make sure you aren't near the lifts.

I had a fantastic time with you over Easter. The food was so good we ate in every night and the staff could not have been more welcoming or helpful. We have been spreading the word about how good you are!

We really enjoyed our recent stay in the West Cork Hotel. The staff were the friendliest bunch we've met in a long time. The food was excellant - nothing wrong with the pints either! Entertainment was good and everyone made the effort for us to enjoy the weekend. We would easily recommend the West Cork Hotel and the area for a holiday. In fact everyone around were very friendly - definitely a hark back to Ireland of the welcomes

My husband and I loved the hotel. It combines traditional elegance with modern conveniences. Our suite, overlooking the river and with a view to the mountains, was spacious and luxurious. The staff are very attentive and responsive. We are looking forward to coming back to Skibberreen and staying at the West Cork Hotel again.

Very nice Hotel. Food was absolutley beautiful. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Only negative I have is that the bed wasnt very comfortable and there was a hard strip down the middle of the bed which felt like it was two single beds pushed together. Other then that everything else was perfect.

Hi Myself and my Fiancee stayed in the West Cork Hotel on Friday 17/03/2012. We really enjoyed our stay, the roo, was nice and clean and comfortable. The staff were very nice through out our stay The breakfast we each had the next morning was excellent, a irish breakfast and the salmon with hollandaise. Thank you Padraig Moore

The enthusiastic welcome received on arrival clearly demonstrates that staff are highly motivated. Customer service in all sections was excellent. I cannot recollect having even a trivial complaint. The ambience of the hotel is greatly enhanced subsequent to the changes that have taken place. Overall every aspect was excellent. Finally, Mr Looney's engaging personality & his rapport with the clients is a strategic marketing exercise. Finbarr Barry

the West Cork Hotel is a hotel of immence character. The reception staff are both professsional and friendly and made our stay great. the food was to die for and th local walks helped in the combat of adding to weight gain for those that are health concious. Loved the availability of newspapers and also the dining and bar experience.

Just returned from a weekend stay at the West Cork hotel. We really enjoyed our time there, there was a really lovely atmosphere in the hotel the blazing open fires were wonderful,the excellent quality of the food, the wonderful local produce and the lovely warm and helpful reception staff, hope to return soon. we had a wonderful stay in the West Cork Hotel, Skibbereen. The staff were so friendly and obliging and could not do enough for us. The receptionist showed us three different rooms and asked which one we would like. All the rooms were beautiful and comfortable. The young dublin girl in the bar went to great lengths to find the right wine for us and made us feel very welcome. We would definitely return to this hotel Don & Monica Cogan

Four of us stayed at the West Cork Hotel in January, This was a deal I picked up on the Internet so I was not sure what to expect. There was not one aspect of our stay that I could complain about, we had a lovely room overlooking the river, staff were so helpful and the food was fabulous. We had afternoon tea as part of our package, and could hardly finish it (if you dont like smoked salmon ask for another choice to replace it). The Breakfast menu was vast, including eggs benedict which I have only seen on the menu of 4 or 5 star hotels. I have to mention the beautifull homemade granola which you can also purchase from the hotel. Excellent evening meal choices which include a drink of your choice for about 12 euro. I would certainly return again, and see more of beautifull west cork. Kathryn, Tipperary

A very warm and friendly welcome. The staff were courteous and knowledgable. The room was comfortable and spacious. We were even given a free upgrade to a larger room.the food was excellent. All in all, a very relaxing stay. Would definitely stay again.

I want to thnak the West Cork and especially Edel O'Donovan for arranging a family gathering recently. It was for over 50 people on a day when a large wedding was taking place. The service, food and everything else was excellent. Also, we booked a number of rooms and they faciltated us extremely well and the rooms were very good. Also, breakfast next morning was very good

BOTH JOHN AND I HAD A FANTASTIC TIME IN YOUR HOTEL. FROM THE MOMENT WE ARRIVED AT AROUND 3.30 ON FRIDAY TO TIME WE LEFT NEXT DAY AT 12.30, THE STAFF WERE ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. THEY WERE HELPFUL, POLITE AND MOST OBLIGING. ALL OUR FAMILY (THERE WERE 8 OF US FROM THE CITY) HAD A GREAT NIGHT AT THE PARTY, WE HAVEN'T STOPPED TALKING ABOUT IT SINCE. WE RECENTLY STAYED AT THE HOTEL AND WERE PLEASANTLY SURPRISED BY THE STANDARD OF EVERYTHING, FOOD, ACCOMADATION, AND THE BEST OF ALL WAS THE STAFF. EACH AND EVERY MEMBER WAS PROFESSIONAL, PLEASANT AND COULD NOT HAVE BEEN MORE HELPFULL. My wife and I stayed in The West Cork Hotel from 30th Nov. 2011 to 3rd Dec.2011. On arrival we recieved a very warm welcome and we were made to feel at home. We were given a beautifully decorated large room which was spotlessly clean and well laid out. The bed was extremley comfortable. The staff were very friendly, couretous and helpful and really went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. The food was excellent and the presentation was beautiful The selections available an each meal time was awsome. We had a very enjoyable stay at The West Cork hotel and we will certainly early in 2012.

We had a great stay, really nice room, nice bathroom, all newly decorated, really comfortable bed. Good food, good service and lounge bar and reception area very relaxed and comfortable. On arrival I received a very warm and friendly welcome from Mags at reception.I was very impressed with the up keep of the hotel and the warm and friendly staff I was in contact with. The room was clean and tidy but cold when I went in first. After a little while heating did come on,I had no control on turning it on if it wasn't on. Once on i could regulate it with the thermostat.The room was nice but I felt it was very small. Ok as I was on business and on my own. Breakfast was a real treat. A great selection and a welcome break from just having the traditional irish breakfast. Traveling all week in and out of hotels you just get tired of the same old fry ups.I had the eggs Kenneddy and loved every morsel of it. Can't wait for my next trip back.I arrived in a van and got into the hotel alright,but getting out I could not get out the exit as the van was to high.Only option was to go out the way I came in,although I was going the wrong way on a one way street.Thanks again for a lovely stay and I look forward to my next visit Christmas week. I wish to thank the staff of the West Cork Hotel for the assistance in setting up the ballroom for the marriage of my niece Yvonne to noel Swanton. At any stage was there a problem as i asked if we could have this or that. The end product was amazing more then i could have believed for. Last month I enjoyed a 2 night stay at this lovely hotel. I found the staff most helpful and the general ambience was friendly and welcoming. Every part of the hotel was kept immaculate and the dining room offered a nouth-watering approach to the breakfast menu. I look forward to making a return visit! Sarah barnwell.

This is an extremely hospitable hotel. We were all made to feel extremely welcome, including my 90 year old father, who was celebrating his birthday back in Ireland. We enjoyed the food very much too. Very tasty with very generous portions. It was a relaxing and comfortable place to stay. My husband and I saw an otter in the river flowing past the hotel, which added interest to our stay.

Excellent from the moment we arrived to when we left. Everyone had a fantastic time, comfortabel rooms (the wet room for elderley gent who stuggled with getting in and out of a shower was fantastic). Excellent food and the staff could not do enough for us. Definately be making a return next year.

After the great disappointment of our rented cottage at Tralispean not being fit for purpose, it was a great joy to be given such a warm welcome at the West Corrk Hotel. Margaret at Reception, and Edith in the Dining Room were particaularly helpful, but I feel just a little guilty at nominating those two in isolation, as everyone was extremely good. I think we were lucky with our room allocation (42) as it had a fairly good view of the river and marsh, whereas our friends in 44 were not so blessed. It would be hard work to find any aspect to complain about, so, all I can say, is that we look forward to a further visit in the future. J E Ellard

The West Cork Hotel is the most fantastic hotel we have ever stayed in! The food was awesome! loads of it and so tasty, well done chef! Presentation good too, so well done all staff. The staff were lovely so friendly so helpful nothing was too much bother. Rooms great too. Cannot fault anything. Lovely bar too sit in at night with a nightcap and you could sit their on your own, no problem... All in all, thanks West Cork you should be proud of your hotel and staff! I stayed in the West Cork Hotel for two nights last week Wed 12th & Thurs 13th October. The bedroom was comfortable if a bit dated. There was no soap or shampoo on our arrival but this was amended on the 2nd night stay. The sink in the bathroom was blocked. As was busy doing other things I never mentioned this to any staff member ...but now I have the opportunity. Staff where friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very nice indeed. I'm afraid made the mistake of booking this Hotel to far away from our golf destination. All in all a reasonable place to stay but needs some new life put into the decor. Regards. JIM RAFFERTY

Dear Sir/Madam, We recently stayed at the West Cork Hotel and found it to be quite delightful. The staff at the West Cork are fantastic. They are very warm, friendly, courteous, and very helpful. Especially Margaret who ensured that we were taken care of during our stay. The hotel is ideally located in the heart of the town and the food served at the West Cork is exceptional. My family stayed at the West Cork Hotel to celebrate my father's 90th birthday. We couldn't have had a better time: the food was delicious, the atmosphere terrific and the staff fantastic - making us so welcome. They even made a surprise birthday cake - which was wonderful. Hello to the West Cork Hotel. My fiance and I stayed at the West Cork Hotel recently and were absolutley astounded by not only the hotel but the staff and service too. We thoroughly enjoyed a beautiful meal in the restaurant where the food was fantastic followed by a sing song in the bar where the music was amazing. We stayed in the gorgeous bridal suite which is most tastefully decorated and it was huge with a stunning bathroom and balcony. We felt that the whole experience in the West Cork Hotel was amazing from start to finish and the staff there really cannot do enough to help you and ensure that your stay is enjoyed by you thoroughly. I would whole heartedly recommend the hotel as either a getaway place to stay and or as a wedding venue. We loved it, thank you so much! Niamh and Andy

ALTHOUGH OUR STAY WAS ONLY FOR THE ONE NIGHT, AND WE TURNED UP A BIT DISHEVELLED AND GRUBBY AFTER OUR MOTORCYCLE GOT A PUNCTURE, WE WERE PLEASANTLY GREETED AND OFFERED A ROOM. THE ROOM WAS CLEAN AND WELL APPOINTED AND OUR OVERALL IMPRESSION WAS THAT OF A FRIENDLY AND HOSPITABLE ESTABLISHMENT. i WOULD HAPPILY RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE AND WILL RETURN IN THE NEAR FUTURE. 3.5 by Australian standards but 4 by English standards Very comfortable. Very charming public areas - very tasteful, well maintained. Food very good and service was by well trained and pleasant staff. Would most definitely recommend.

I'm rating the West Cork Hotel a 5 star hotel!! We were just at a wedding last weekend, congrats to Liam and Trina by the way, and the hotel was absolutely fantastic!! Very accomodating and friendly staff, very clean and savage food! Our room was lovely, and breakfast was served till 12pm!! That was the best part!!

The hotel serves terrific food as you'd expect in West Cork, Ireland's undisputed food capital. The atmosphere is warm with an old world sense of style and an evening in the bar is not to be missed.

I had a lovely stay in the west coal hotel. The room was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The food was delicious and it was very convenient that breakfast was served until 12 midday as we had had a late night previously and were glad if the lie in. The lady working at the reception desk was very friendly and gave us information on the surrounding area and welcomed us back in te future. Overall I was very impressed!

This hotel really exceeded my expectations. The room was very tastefully decorated, and very large in size. We were attending a wedding and the food was fantastic, in fact I would say it was the best meal I ever had at a wedding. Thank you to everyone in The West Cork Hotel, we will be back.

We found the staff, and particularly the reception staff (Edel O'Donavan) to be excellent. Our stay was most enjoyable in fact we rated the West Cork to be the best Hotel by far out of three in the same grade that we stayed in during our holiday in Cork.

Stayed in The West Cork Hotel last week for one night. Really enjoyed our stay, lovely athmosphere and very helpful and obliging staff, nothing was too much trouble. The night porter (from Estonia) was particularly polite and efficient. I have been to weddings in this Hotel over the years and always enjoyed them and whilst it has been refurbished and looks fantastic it has managed to retain it's charm. I enjoyed my stay at the West Cork. Was in Skibbereen to catch up with friends and it suited perfectly. The only problem was the room was very warm and it overlooked the street, so we couldn't really open the window due to the noise. The breakfast was top class and the service was excellent. Also, it was good value for money. I would definitley stay in the West Cork again.

Hi, we stayed for two nights recently and found the Hotel excellent, good music session on the Wednesday night, very friendly staff in every area of hotel, rooms very clean and comfortable and food excellent. Would definitely stay again and have already recommended it to friends. Found the Hotel excently situated for three days of sightseeing in the general West Cork area where I hadn't been to before. I and the rest of my party found the experience of staying in your hotel most enjoyable. We loved the rooms, very comfortable beds,lovely decor and very clean surroundings. The food was excellent, breakfast and evening meals included. The staff were amazing. Quietly going about their business with very pleasant dispositions. The location was brillant, close to shops, pubs and restaurants and in a very scenic setting. I did not hear one complaint from any of our group and we were booked into more than twelve rooms. We had a lovely few days in Skibbereen,end of July 2011.The West Cork hotel is lovely,staff are very friendly and helpful.The breakfast and evening meal are excellent and I loved the fact that breakfast is served until 12 o clock.It meant we had time for a walk to build up an appetite!Even though omlettes were not on the breakfast menu,I received a delicious one on request on the last morning of our stay.The seating area on the old bridge is another lovely feature of this hotel and location is excellent,at the edge of the town,on the banks of the river.

My wife, daughter and I had a very pleasant and enjoyable stay at the West Cork Hotel. We would have to agree with the reviews posted by other guests, we found the staff to be very obliging, attentive and friendly from housekeeping, bar, restaurant and reception. The choice for breakfast was wide and varied and available up to mid-day, which is a great marketing/selling point for the Hotel. The restaurant menu and the less formal lounge area menu were again wide and varied and competitively priced and represented good value for money and highly recommended. The only minor irritant we experienced was our room was located in close proximity to the wedding function rooms and we could hear the music from the weddings into the early hours so if you are a light sleeper perhaps you should ask for a room a little bit further away. But overall a very pleasant experience, would have no hesitation in recommending the Hotel or in coming back ourselves in the future........enjoy your stay.

We stayed in your hotel recently for a wedding and the food and service was excellent. The main areas in the hotel and outdoor seating areas were very nice however we were disappointed with our room as it was very small and we felt it really only suited a single occupancy. It was expensive in comparison to what you would receive in a comparative hotel.

The West Cork Hotel in Skibbereen is where you must stay when you visit West Cork. The Hotel is charming, the food is superb, the staff are most courteous and helpful. The accommodation rates are very reasonable and the WIFI works well! However, there is just one drawback, especially if you stay during a weekend: the enormous selection of deserts that are presented just shouldn't be allowed,.unless you are someone who wants to add a few pounds in weight. We had a very pleasant stay in your hotel from our arrival to departure. The hotel decor and interior design was modern, bright aqnd relaxing but retained the old features of the hotel I (Barry)visted many times with my parents in the past. We enjoyed our reasonably priced evening meal. There was pleanty of room in the carpark. Overall you get five stars - you are a credit to West Cork....but just one thing a little negative - we had to climb too many stairs ( no lift) to get to our room ( number three I think. The area of West Cork generally is good to visit with plenty of interesting coastal villages especially, so hopefully it won't be too long before we take another look.

Particular thank you to English gentleman who was working on Friday night and went over and beyond the call of duty to organise a taxi home for one of my friends. Have stayed there several times over the last few years, each time there are more & more improvements to the building. The food has always been excellent with their nightly bar food specials. The last time I was there the bar had been renovated and was literaly unrecogniseable with all the extra natural light. I can recomend it to anyone.

As frequent visitors to the Skibbereen area, my brother and I have enjoyed many evenings at the West Cork Hotel. The staff are always friendly and accomodating even when extremely busy. The food is wholesome, unfussy and always prepared and served to a high standard; you will never eat hot food off a cold plate at the West Cork Hotel! Comfortable without being luxurious. Very friendly staff, they actually go the extra mile to help. Rooms are large, clean and well decorated. The hotel is the pivotal, convivial heart of Skibbereen, for both local residents and visitors. The renovated lobby is both bright and cozy, a place for dining, having a drink or tea, or just reading the local papers in front of the fire. The bar was undergoing renovation while we were there, expanding into the former reservation area. I expect that when completed it will be to the same standard as the lobby. The staff are polite and helpful. The one dinner we had there was very good; we did not have any cooked breakfast, but the continental buffet was fine, with fresh fruit salad and scones. We hope that the hotel becomes the catalyst for new tourism in Skibbereen and West Cork and remains a place where local people meet and dine. We look forward to returning.

My wife and I stayed at the West Cork Hotel from 18th to 21st November 2010. On arrival we were welcomed very warmly at reception and made to feel very welcome. The room was very large and spotless and everything about the room was to our liking. The food was beautiful and the service was very courtious and attentive both for breakfast and for dinner in the evening. The bar was comfortable and welcoming with a lovely open fire which made the place very homely. Over all we had a very enjoyable time at the West Cork Hotel and we will definately be returning to savour the hospitality.

Arrived with two business colleagues, one from Finland, to a warm Irish welcome which helped put the bad weather into the background. Accommodation was spotless and of a good standard. Staff were very friendly and efficient without appearing fussy. Food (evening meal, breakfast and lunch were of a high standard. Overall a most enjoyableexperience. My Finish colleague remarked on the excellent value.

I have stayed twice now in the hotel and more than anything else, I found the staff very friendly and helpful. On arrival, the people on the front desk meet you with a warm smile. This on both occasions made me feel like I was at home and very comfortable. I have stayed in a lot of hotels through out the country and the breakfast in the West Cork is worth going back for. I picked this hotel mainly because of it's location as we were going to an event in skibbereen town. It's right on the edge of town so it was perfect. The rate we got was fantastic as well, although that was booked through a third party website. Overall for the price I was very happy with my stay. The restaurant was nice - lacking a bit in charm but staff were nice and the food was top notch, and the price was very good also. The only gripe I would have is that the "view" from our room was the worst I've yet to see in a hotel - opening the curtains showed a dingy brick wall and a pile of pipes and fans.I think it was just above the kitchen area. To be honest it didn't matter to me as we were only staying one night but had we been there for a longer stay I would have complained and asked to be moved. Considering it was a short trip and very well priced I wasn't bothered. So in short: staff were nice & helpful, location is spot on, food was great (actually it's the first hotel I've stayed in that got a full irish breakfast just right) and above all else price was great. All in all I'd reccommend the place and hope to stay there again sometime.

Our stay at the West Cork Hotel weekend of 9th October was faultless, the accommodation was beautiful, the staff were the nicest I have ever met, they were so interested in the guests well-being so much so that I cannnot wait to go back again. The food was delicious and the menu was so varied the only problem was choosing what to have, the breakfast was also delicious, great start to a beautiful day in Skibbereen. The staff made us so welcome it felt like visiting family unlike many generic hotels where the staff are robotic. West Cork Hotel have put the "Welcome " back into the Ireland of the welcomes. I rate this hotel as a 4 star because the staff were really lovely and helpful. The only problems were that there was no hot water in the morning but I was offered another room to shower. there should be more food at least bread for gluten free guests but again there were other choices that were adequate. I changed rooms from the first night into an adequate room which was slightly cold but the first room I had was brilliant. Overall it was a nice experience.

We had an lovely 3 night break in The West Cork Hotel. The food is excellent here, both breakfast and dinner. Staff helpful and friendly. Car parking is convenient and secure. Bar food was also very good. There is a lift. Our room had a nice view of the River Ilen, was clean and well appointed but was a bit small and was over the function room. Any activity in the corridor outside seemed to be so loud that it sounded as if it was in the room. There was no wedding on the weekend of our stay. From bitter experiences of sleepless nights in other hotels we had made sure of that before we booked. Had there been a wedding or similar late night party during our stay it could have been very noisy for the other guests. Soundproofing the rooms is the one item that needs attention. Overall a very enjoyable break and we shall return. Billy & Anne Marie.

I have stayed at this hotel quite a lot over the past few years and have found it to be a most pleasant place to stay, staff are very friendly and helpful. hotel is spotless and has all one would need Since the hotel has been renovated the experience is even better and I have no problem in recommending this hotel to any one. Very enjoyable stay meals excellent and staff very friendly and helpful. My only gripe (if you could call it one) is we were at the very top of hotel which is a fair old climb late at night!!! particularly for oldER guests. Great weekend many thanks

Hi, I enjoyed my stay in your hotel. The room was nice and quiet and the food was excellent. My mother particularly enjoyed the kippers she got for breakfast! We also had an evening dinner one night in the restaurant which was also of a high standard. Overall, I couldn't fault the hotel!

We spent three days in the West Cork Hotel in August 2010 and had a wonderful time. The hotel has been recently revamped to high standard and the rooms and beds are extremely comfortable. The new owner afforded my wife some time in showing her several pictures of the last railway train leaving Skibbereen and as my wife was born just yards from the hotel many memories came flooding back. Staff very helpful and obliging - having had concerns of the airconditioning unit blasting away outside the window were advised it would be turned off at 10.00pm, which it was. Dinning room staff very polite and helpful. Would recommend people to stay here.

We very much enjoyed our midweek break in the West Cork. A very comfortably-sized Hotel, with exceptionally friendly staff, who went out of their way to assist us. The breakfast was the highlight of our stay, however. So much better than the run-of-the-mill offerings served up in so many of the 'corporate-style' hotels around the country these days! Highly recommended, what more could I say than that I would gladly rebook this Hotel? Steve & Lynda, Galway; Mary & Bert, Roscommon.

Stayed in The West Cork in the middle of August 2010 with hubby & 2 kids (16 & 12); The rooms were nice & clean and the bathroom was adequate; what made the hotel exceptional was its staff; every member of staff we met was so nice and helpful; the food in the hotel was fantastic - breakfast was very good and served till 12pm, and it has brilliant specials each night in the restaurant which made eating there very affordable even with 2 hungry teenagers!! Will definitely stay there again.

We had a very beautiful view of the city from our room. Our room was comfortable and we had small cookies and mineral water as a greeting from the hotel. Unfortunately we couldn’t use the health club as we didn’t have enough time for it. Next time we are in Cork, we will spend more time in this hotel. Irina from Berlin

Our stay at The West Cork Hotel in Skibbereen was very enjoyable . The staff were very welcoming and helpful . The food was excellent. The room was very comfortable and very attractively decorated.
