Stephane Delourme - Brittany

Upon moving to Cornwall in 1998, Stephane Delourme began working as head chef at The Seafood Restaurant in Padstow, which is the flagship establishment owned by Rick and Jill Stein.

Originally from Paris, Stephane learnt to cook traditional French dishes from his mother’s, who reside in Brittany. However he first began his career working in Paris for the two Michelin Starred; Sully D’Auteuil, before moving on to Au Vieux Berlin.

He relocated to England in 1983, where he worked in London’s Roof Restaurant at the Hilton on Park Lane, and throughout his time in London he became instrumental in the opening of some of London’s most distinguished restaurants, working alongside leading chefs including Michael Croft at Mirabelle and Martin Webb at Quaglino’s.

He returned to France in 1995 where he worked at Michelin-starred restaurant Prunier in Paris, he also worked aboard the most famous of cruise liners – The QE2, as well as working with Patrick Guilbaud  in Dublin, before returning to the UK once more.

In the late nineties, Stephane finally succumb to his dream to live near the coast and work with high quality seafood, so he moved to Cornwall and joined The Seafood Restaurant as head chef, which has since won ‘Best Seafood Restaurant Award’ on five occasions.
Stephane Delourme will be competing against Rick’s son Jack Stein from Cornwall, Ian Bennett from Wales, Tony Singh from Scotland, Butch Buttery from The Isle of Man and Gary O'Hanlon from Ireland.

Roy Brett and Martin Shanahan will be among the judges for the 2012 Celtic Cook Off and will be joined by Tim Anderson, winner of MasterChef 2011 and who is Guest of Honour for the Celtic Cook Off this year. Tim will also be taking part in the events involving chefs and food producers arranged as part of the whole Celtic Cook Off experience.
