According to a recent survey undertaken by Mrs2be.ie, Irish couples are now spending an average of €24,000 on their wedding celebrations, including their honeymoon.

The survey also found that in 2014 couples spent an average of €19,625 on their big day celebrations, not including the honeymoon and the average was €24,045 when the special honeymoon was included.

This cost represented an increase on 2012, when the average spend was €17,690 not including the big honeymoon, and €22,498 including the honeymoon.

While spend has shown an increase for the venue, band, dress, honeymoon, transport and stationery the survey indicated a decrease in other areas such as photographers and videographers.
