The Rolling Waves at the West Cork Hotel
Summer holiday season is well into its stride with a plethora of festivals and summer attractions lighting up the towns and villages of west cork. Over the last few weeks the scenic region has had its fair share of exciting and diverse festivals and that spell of festival activity is set to continue this June Bank Holiday weekend in the many towns and villages close to us here in Skibbereen.
If you are looking for things to do in Skibbereen or its surrounding areas, starting from today both Bandon and Ballydehob are holding their own distinctive music festivals whilst the maritime town of Bantry holds a walking festival for active minded visitors. For hotels near Bantry, the West Cork Hotel is ideally situated just a half an hour drive from the busy market town.
This spate of festivals and events along with the many attractions and outdoor pursuits to be had in the region close to us here in Skibbereen has made West Cork a hive of holiday activity this summer. And next weekend is no exception. Whilst Ballydehob and Bandon both are holding their own music festivals this weekend, we here in our hotel in West Cork, have our own music event planned for the following Saturday 7th June. Popular folk group Rolling Waves bringing their distinctive troubadour sound and style to the West Cork Hotel for a live concert. They are one of many bands and artists to play at the West Cork Hotel, providing a variety of live entertainment for guests and locals throughout the year.
Next Saturdays upcoming concert is sure to draw a crowd with Rolling Waves being well respected in the Irish folk music scene. Their music style, a unique blend of Celtic themed folk music with a distinctive sound, complete with a rendition of classic folk melodies, brings a sort of roguish charm to the stage.
Tickets for the event, which will start on Saturday night 8pm with doors opening at 7:30pm (during the concert there will also be an interval bar, raffle and auction) are priced €10 / €8 and can be bought from us here at the West Cork Hotel as well as from a select number of places in West Cork among them Thornhill Electrical in Skibbereen, Cahalane’s Bar in Skibbereen and Organico in Bantry.
