Six West Cork pubs listed in 2014 Michelin Guide

Six popular West Cork pubs are amongst 34 Irish establishments to secure a listing in the latest 2014 Michelin ‘Eating Out In Pubs’ Guide which was just released.

The various West Cork establishments included were Mary Ann’s (Castletownshend), Poacher’s Inn (Bandon), An Súgan and Deasy’s (Clonakilty), Cronin’s (Crosshaven) and Toddies at The Bulman (Kinsale). These well known pubs were listed alongside 21 other pubs from the Republic and seven from Northern Ireland featured in the publication. These pubs are now sure to be high on visitors' list of things to do in West Cork when planning a trip to the South West of Ireland.

This year’s Guide included pubs from across the island of Ireland, recommending some 577 pubs spread across England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland of which 70 are new entries and all of which are selected, first and foremost, for the quality of their food.

Noting that no one has to put up with bad food in a pub anymore, editor Rebecca Burr said that all pubs listed in the Guide have been “rigorously inspected” by a team of full-time inspectors – the same team who produce the famed Michelin Great Britain & Ireland restaurant guide. The Michelin ‘Eating Out In Pubs’ Guide 2014 is now available to purchase in bookshops and online.
