Clonakilty Black Pudding to feature on SKY TV show

Clonakilty and its world renowned traditional Irish cuisine is set to feature on SKY TV this week after a film crew travelled to the West Cork region recently to film a special programme for the weekly ‘Out & About in Ireland’ series on SKY TV.

The show, which will be televised on Thursday, November 21st, at  9 p.m. looks at the development of Clonakilty as a world leader for quality food production and how one company, Clonakilty Black Pudding, created a global brand for the town.

‘No matter where you go in the world Clonakilty is synonymous with black pudding. It is a global brand today and we wanted to find out how it all started and the personal story behind its success,’ said IRISH TV presenter Pierce O’Reilly.

The long history of Clonakilty Black Pudding dates back over a hundred years when local woman, Joanne O'Brien, first began making famous West Cork delicacy. That secret recipe is still being used in the making the pudding today.

Apart from the feature on Clonakilty black pudding, the programme also looks at West Cork as a thriving tourism region.
