Cape Clear International Storytelling Festival

Cape Clear, Ireland’s most southern inhabited island is situated 8 miles off the coast of Baltimore in West Cork. An Island known for its folklore, spectacular scenery and unique flora and fauna, Cape Clear can be reached by Ferry from Baltimore and Schull, which are both less than 20 minutes drive from us here at the Hotel West Cork in Skibbereen.

This Friday 31st August – Sunday 2nd September, Cape Clear will host is International Storytelling Festival, which now in its 18th year has become one of the most renowned festivals of its type. Year-on-Year Festival organisers invite accomplished storytellers from around the world as well as the best of Ireland’s representatives. This Year performers include; Ed Stivender (U.S.A.), Katrice Horsley (England), Daniel Morden (Wales), Diarmuid O Drisceoil (Ireland) and Muireann NicAmhlaoibh (Ireland).

With a packed programme of events taking place over the weekend this is fast becoming one of the must do things to do in West Cork. All tickets for individual events available at the Information Office beside An Club. Children over 6 and under 12 years of age are welcome and must be accompanied by an adult at daytime events, except at the children's event which they may attend alone.
