Tripadvisor Reviews:
"Great Lunches"
"The West Cork Hotel provides a great selection of meals for their mid-day lunches. Their roast Beef is always very appetising."
"Quality food in a stylish place"
The Kennedy Restaurant, situated in the West Cork Hotel, is the first address for eating out in Skibbereen; no wonder, it's a very elegant place, and the food really is first class. Some dishes may be a bit expensive, but you can also get something cheaper, like chicken wings or a nourishing fish soup. The roast beef is fantastic!
"Great place, homely and a staple of West Cork"
I love this hotel it is so welcoming and is really the main well known hotel symbolic to Skibbereen. It's unpretentious and down to earth while still classy and conservative. I always feel very at home when I even visit for food and drinks while staying in town with friends. I recently took my best friend for a birthday lunch here with champagne. We had the choice on th Sunday of having the full roast cavery or the al a carte menu. Lots of choice and great home cooked food. Great choice of wines and beers and places to sit whether inside the bar, brasserie (specific opening times) or adjacent to the foyer.
"Very well looked after"
Myself and my wife spent 4 nights in hotel and used it as a base to travel around west cork from climbing knockalong hill in Lough Hyne to climbing Clara mountain in Millstreet to relaxing on warren beach in sunny roscaberry to walking through Rineen wood in Glandore. We had a wondeful time. The hotel was excellent. Room was a superior room, with plenty of facilities and space. The breakfast every morning was excellent with plenty of choice which we availed of, treating ourselves to a different one each morning. Afternoon dinner in the bar was equally good, recommend the "tim special". What made it really special was the friendly staff who were ever cheerful and really wanted to look after your every need. The owner Tim added to this by going out of his way every morning and evening to chat to all the diners, guests & locals, a true gent. This was customer service at its best and unfortunately not often seen. Will be back.
