Dear Patricia, Anne, Ann-Marie,  Aidan and all the team at the West Cork Hotel,

Thanking you for hosting our wedding ceremony and reception on Friday 17th September 2021. We were very lucky with the lovely sunshine on the day. Everyone was impressed with the hospitality and good food served throughout the day, and how nice the wedding venue looked for the ceremony.

All the preparations beforehand came together well and the flowers added that extra colour and set the prefect scene we wanted.

We had the wonderful experience of having our wedding reception in the West Cork Hotel in October 2020. Any couple who tried to plan their wedding during a global pandemic will know the obstacles you face and ours was no exception. Two days before we were due to get married we had to change our wedding reception venue due to unforeseen circumstances. The West Cork Hotel came to the rescue at the 11th hour and pulled out all the stops. 

The minute we spoke to Patricia on the phone we felt at ease straight away. Considering we were ringing asking them to host our wedding reception with less than 48 hours to go you would think we would have been met with some strange replies but it couldn’t have been more opposite. Patricia and the team were extremely professional, accommodating and nothing was a problem to them. 

Due to restrictions we had 25 guests and they all felt safe and secure as a result of the great lengths the West Cork Hotel went to. Everything was of an exceptional standard from the drinks reception to the function room, high quality food, accommodation, breakfast the next morning and everything in between. 

We really appreciated the hospitality shown by both Barry and Tim Looney also. 
 
We want to thank all the staff for making our day so special and we can’t wait to visit the West Cork Hotel again in the near future.

As a couple who got married during the covid-19 pandemic, we really were not sure how things were going to go on the day. From our first meeting with Patricia, we instantly felt at ease. We had a list of questions which were answered with confidence. Barry joined in and offered suggestions of entertainment on the day and the running order. We can honestly say that everything was perfect on the day.

Barry, Patricia and Ann-Marie had everything under control. It was exactly how we thought it would be with some face masks and hand sanitiser thrown in. We were allowed 50 guests for the reception which wasn't ideal but the function room looked amazing and didn't feel too big at all. All our guests thoroughly enjoyed the day from start to finish and are still talking about how fantastic the food and service was even now, 4 months later! Thank you for everything.

"Overall we loved how well our guests were welcomed as they travelled from all over Europe, from helping us organise the German drinks reception, the hotel providing plenty of food, and the many friendly staff (including reception offering to return our groomsmen’s and groom’s hired suits).... 

 

 

...And of course Barry Looney offering to give our friends a lift when their taxi never arrived at 2:30am. We felt we got to share the best of West Cork! ‘
