This weekend we have music in our Snug on the Saturday night, chocolate treats for the kids on Easter Sunday afternoon followed by music in the main bar on the Sunday night.

An enjoyable Paddy’s Day Parade in Skibbereen

This weekend it was the Skibbereen St Patrick’s Day parade. For a change the weather was kind to us and there was a great turn out for the event which started at our hotel in West Cork. Many people came to enjoy the parade, which featured lots of local businesses and people, including our very own West Cork Hotel branded jeep! Thanks to all the organisers and participants for a wonderful afternoon and we are looking forward to next year’s already!

Paddy’s Day Bank Holiday Weekend at the West Cork Hotel

With the Bank Holiday weekend nearly upon us there are lots of things to look forward to, including on Friday 16th March, the grand opening of “The snug at the West Cork Hotel”. The snug area in the past was affectionately referred to as “matchmakers corner” in John Murphy’s seniors time, as it was here he met perspective couples and their parents. In later years it became the hotel reception, the hub of our hotel in west cork.

Then on Saturday 17th March, St Patrick’s Day, it is Skibbereen’s Paddy’s day parade, which we are proud to be part of and which is starting from the front of the West Cork Hotel at 2:30pm. So look out for the Taste of West Cork float, as our West Cork Hotel branded jeep will be towing it, and maybe after the parade join us back in our pub in Skibbereen to raise a glass of the black stuff.

The fun and celebrations continue on to Sunday 18th March, Mothering Sunday, when we will be offering our special West Cork Hotel Mother’s Day 3 course lunch including entertainment for the kids. Just call us on 028 21277 for more details and to place your reservations.

Irish Blood Transfusion Service at the West Cork Hotel

Next week at the West Cork Hotel, we are pleased to have the Irish Blood Transfusion Service with us for a few days.

If anyone regularly gives blood or would like to become a blood donor, you can visit the Irish Blood Transfusion Blood Bank in West Cork, right here at our very own hotel in West Cork on Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15th March between 3 – 5pm and 7 – 9pm.

March at the West Cork Hotel

It is set to be a busy month of March at the West Cork Hotel. Starting this week, on Wednesday 7th March, when there will be a cheese and wine reception in aid of Cope. The event starts from 830pm.

Next week as we approach the bank holiday weekend, it is set to get even busier. On Wednesday 14th and Thursday 15th March, the Irish blood transfusion blood bank will be at our hotel in west cork. The West Cork Hotel this St Patricks Weekend

March is finally upon us and in Ireland that means one thing, St Patricks Day. Our national holiday the one day of the year where everyone it seems wants to be Irish, and towns and villages up and down the country and indeed around the world will be celebrating with their own parades and all day celebrations.

The Skibbereen St Patrick Day Parade is set to kick off at 2:30pm from outside the front entrance of our hotel in west cork and this year we will be teaming up with a Taste of West Cork, to tow their float, so look out for the West Cork Hotel branded jeep in the parade, which as is custom should be a colourful and above all entertaining event.

Skibbereen is the only place to be this St Patricks Day and the parade is just the start of the festivities, as celebrations will continue around the town and will last well into the night and early hours.
