In early January, we here at the West Cork Hotel played hosts to our very first Clan Gathering.
An honour to be involved in such a wonderful event, the Leonard Clan – all 72 Adults and 21 Children, were a joy to have as guests over the few days that they were here.
Using our exquisite ballroom that can hold up to 300 for events, as the main area during the Clan Gathering, the Leonard clan were able to socialise and get to know each other in comfort and in privacy. What’s more the large space gave the kids of the clan the opportunity of some secure and enclosed to run around and play.
Although a new type of event for us, we are old hands at organising events, and as such were able to offer extra facilities and suggestions throughout the weekend to help make the event a success, such as microphones for the clan ‘sing song’ and the setting up of our big screen and laptop for the “Skype” connection to the US, so that the clan could make two calls to cousins in Boston that couldn’t make the event in person.
Mike Caplice expressed his thanks on behalf of the Leonard Clan “I would like to thank you and all the staff and owners of the West Cork Hotel for the excellent service you provided us with at our clan gathering on the 12th of January” and went on to comment that “The quality and serving of the food was excellent and very good value. The bar service was great and the accommodation that was provided for the people who stayed overnight was also top class” before finishing with “I would have no hesitation in recommending the West Cork Hotel to anyone for Clan Gatherings or Weddings or any function.”
