A recent wedding survey has claimed that the average Irish wedding has risen significantly over the past year. According to the recent survey on average Irish couples spend over a whopping €22,000 on their wedding day.

This figure is found to cover the all important wedding venue, reception, dress and honeymoon and all the usual wedding paraphernalia! The survey also found that 28% of people getting married take out a loan to pay for the big day, whilst 22% share the associated costs with their respective parents.

The survey also found that the average price per person attending a wedding is €61 whilst 45% of people tend to spend more than €60 per guest. It was also revealed a the survey that 77% of couples prefer cash as a wedding gift, whilst Saturday is still found to be the most popular day for couples to get hitched.
