New west cork canoeing route

The trail will begin with an upgrading and creation of slipways along the proposed kayak route. Deelish Pier which is located close to our hotel in county Cork in Skibbereen town center will be the first slipway to be upgraded, with other slipways to be added/upgraded later to allow canoeists and kayakers follow a trail around Roaringwater Bay. In time the local authority hope to create more routes along the West Cork coast for similar, outdoor, water-borne activities with a look at developing other piers for outdoor pursuits in Bantry, Castletownbere, and on the Beara and Sheep’s Head peninsulas creating a network of kayaking routes around the vast area of west cork.
