Continued events taking place in West Cork this November

The fun continues this month at the West Cork Hotel. For places to stay in West Cork this November, look no further than our West Cork Accommodation.

Aside from the in hotel entertainment there are a number of year round attractions and things to do in West Cork. The surrounding towns and villages of west cork come alive in the late autumn/winter months. Browsing local farmers markets, visiting star attractions and cafes in any of the regions hotspots as well as outdoor pursuits of sea anglingwhale watching, island hopping and a variety of adventure sports such as sea kayaking and challenging hillwalks in the remote peninsulas and landscape are always good craic.

And for people interested in more moderate walks that focus on a bit of local history it is worth noting that Drimoleague Heritage Walkways have their weekly guided walk every Tuesday evening at 6:30pm. Meet up at the Railway Yard car park in the village of Drimoleague (25 minutes drive us here), for a walk encapsulating different routes and lasting 1-2 hours. If interested call Mike O Sullivan on 087 7641420.

For all of us mud loving adventure sorts, there is the Skibbereen Down and Dirty Adventure Race on 29th November to look forward to. This is a 6km adventure race around the beautiful grounds of nearby Liss Ard Estate that takes full advantage of the colder wetter days of the autumn/winter months creating a fun and mucky dayout for a good cause. Here competitors are actively encouraged to get dirty as they run through a series of natural and man made obstacles stumbling, falling and wading through mud along the way all in the name of fun and charity. The proceeds from the entry to the race will go to a number of good causes including West Cork Rapid Response, Down Syndrome West Cork and Co-Action West Cork.

And after an adrenaline pumping day spent falling through mud the lure of a warm shower, a few hot drinks in the variety of pubs in Skibbereen and a hearty meal post race in the Kennedy Restaurant in Skibbereen, in the town of Skibbereen afterwards will make the fun charity race all the more worthwhile.

With all this and much more there is plenty of activity and events to whet the appetite in the town of Skibbereen and west cork over the coming weeks, if you are looking for a hotel in county cork, look no further than our B&B in Skibbereen. All you need to do is pack your bags and we will take care of the rest!
